In order to comply with Linden Lab’s new branding policies, I’ve changed the name of the Go Center to “Go Center - SL”. In titles and display, I use two go stones as the dash. (Thanks to Unicode, these are just characters!)
Now we just need a better logo…
The very fine community over at GoDiscussions.com have set up a sub-forum just for us: visit the Go Center of Second Life forum.
Right now, there is a continuation of the discussion about holding a tournament in Second Life.
While you’re at their site, check out the rest of the forums. I’ve become quite an addict of the site since we started using it informally awhile ago. Now I check it daily and it has brought me to all sorts of interesting Go information and ideas.

Attendance at the Go Center has been down all summer, but I think that has mostly been due to people being out on vacation. Now that it is September, and school has started, and it’s back to work, work, work, I hope that we’ll see more of you all back at the Go Center on club events.
Speaking of, over the summer I took a poll and we have new club event times, in case you didn’t notice:
SL Time - Pacific Daylight Time
- Saturdays, 9am - Noon
- Sundays, 9am - Noon
- Thursdays, 6pm - 9pm
GMT - Greenwich Mean Time
- Saturdays, 4pm - 7pm
- Sundays, 4pm - 7pm
- Fridays, 1am - 4am
If these times don’t work for you, drop me a line, and I’ll see if any better times for all emerge.
The Go Center now has its very own blog. This will allow me to update the news about the Go Center much more easily. In addition, we get all sorts of benefits: Comments, RSS feeds, and support for additional authors.
Go ahead and copy the RSS feed link into your favorite news reader and never miss what’s going on at the Go Center.

We now have a Go Camp at Burning Life. Take a break from exploring the incredible art of the virtual playa and play a little 9×9. Go Camp is located at Burning Life (Skylar) 98,129. For info about the event, check out the unofficial blog.
Check out the great new Go Center HUD by Nikkou Hax. You attach this little object and you get a nifty, small Go Center logo in the lower right corner of your screen that keeps you up to date with the number of people at the Go Center. Available for free at the hexagonal gazebo at the Go Center.
The boards on the west side of the playing pavilion now support full undo, and when the game is over a review mode so you can replay the game and talk about it.
Update: All boards at the pavilion now have this ability.
Some members have started using the forums at GoDiscussions.com. See the “General Go Chat” forum, and look for posts with topics that start GCSL, like this one about ranks and this one about land.
